With the weather looking to take a bit of a turn, now is the perfect time for a quiet night in, sat on the couch, absolutely shitting yourself at this brand new horror film on Netlfix.Don't Breath is so creepy even movie critics are struggling to watch it all the way through - sounds good to me.
The movie tells the story of three pals who try to rob a blind man but find that things quickly take a pretty dark turn - the trio find themselves trapped in the house.
The man whose house they break into is an Iraq war veteran and if they thought that getting one over on him would be easy, then they were definitely wrong.
The film makes use of silence and little dialogue to really ramp up the tension, adding in the odd jump scare here and there, and it's fair to say that horror-lovers will be huge fans. The movie was directed by Fede Alvarez, who also wrote it alongside Rodo Sayagues (the guys who worked on the Evil Dead remake) and stars Dylan Minnette (13 Reasons Why), Stephen Lang (Avatar), Daniel Zovatto (from the equally creepy It Follows) and Jane Levy (Evil Dead) - and it proved to be such a success that a sequel is already in the pipeline.
According to the official synopsis: "Rocky, a young woman wanting to start a better life for her and her sister, agrees to take part in the robbery of a house owned by a wealthy blind man with her boyfriend Money and their friend Alex.
"But when the blind man turns out to be a more ruthless adversary than he seems, the group must find a way to escape his home before they become his latest victims."
Movie critic Laura Kern said the movie had 'true crawl-under-the-seat, palm-piercing, cover-your-eyes tension', which would 'make Hitchcock proud' - pretty hefty praise, I'm sure you'll agree.
The movie, which was released in 2016, has a solid 7.1 on IMDB and 88 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and is available on Netflix now. What are else are you going to do with your evening? Go outside? I think we've all had quite enough of that for one year.
